Adamek vs Arreola - April 24 « Thread Started on Mar 9, 2010, 6:52pm »
People are saying this will be the heavyweight fight of the year. Arreola is similar to Jason Estrada except a much harder hitter, but Arreola's weak point is that he doesn't move around very much so Adamek can defeat him with speed, as long as he doesn't get KO'd. Arreola is huge though, last fight he was 260 pounds although he has said he plans to be 240 or 245 for this fight.
This is going to be in California and on HBO, so should be a great fight, also HBO said that whoever wins it will have a heavyweight title shot.
Also Andrzej Gmitruk, Adamek's long time trainer, can't train Adamek anymore because of some health problems, so now Adamek is being trained by Ronnie Shields. He has trained Mike Tyson and Golota in the passed so Adamek is in good hands.

Sounds like he really does have a chance. I hope he can kick that wankers ass becasue he seems like a pushover who needs to lose 50 pounds of fat. Honestly I saw him against Klitschko and he just died.

Klitschko is just a giant, he doesn't even bother putting his hands up to defend himself, he has such a huge arm length all he has to do is keep his distance so no one can hit him, but he can still hit his opponent.

Well his new trainers or someone changed his name from "Goral" to "Tom Quick Hands" which is absolutely terrible because hes not even that quick and when they announce it it will be Tomasz "Tom Quick Hands" Adamek which will sound retarted. Besides hes not even the quickest fighter out there or anything atleast Goral made more sense.
Arreola is 253 pounds and and he says he will be down to the lower 40s for the fight it probably wont happen. Adamek is still at the 220 range I believe. Arreola is known for eating fast food and most a lot of his weight is fat so don't think hes pure muscle. Pictures from today show that Adamek is actually taller and obviously better built than Arreola which is surprising cause it lists Arreola as 6'4" and Adamek 6'1". So now people are betting for Adamek.
Well this fight is this Saturday and will be on HBO live starting around 11:00 PM ET. They replay it throughout Sunday anyway in case you miss it. This is going to be the most exciting heavyweight fight of the year, the winner could potentially vs Wladimir Klitschko. I really hope Adamek wins can't wait!

The betters, experts, and everyone are completely split on who will win tonight, it will be quite a fight. Will Arreola's size and power win or Adamek's speed and skill win the fight?

114-114, 117-111, 115-113
The tie was definetly done just because Arreola was fighting at home because there was a large margin for Adamek the middle one is the one thats unbiased.
Adamek won by points but man it was close... me and my dad were at the edge of our seats the entire fight at home of course. It could have just been that one punch that Arreola could have knocked out Adamek. He was close on 2 seperate occasions and then Adamek's shoe got messed up so his leg stance was messed up too. In the late rounds Arreola injured his arm and from that point on Adamek dominated, he had some nice combinations but Arreola never seemed like he would have gotten knocked out even though his face was entirely swollen.
Arreola was just counting on the KO to win while Adamek wanted to win by points, so Adamek got the points.
